Its establishment, NYVS began receiving small-scale projects and eventually expanded its reach from 4 blocks to 11 blocks, significantly scaling and deepening its outreach. NYVS estimates the total population of MSM and transgender individuals in Yavatmal to be between 2,700 and 3,000, of which 1,475 have registered as NYVS members, paying annual membership fees.

Key donors and partners of NYVS include GSMT (the founder NGO), Swasti (a constant technical support partner helping NYVS build institutional capacity and create access to services such as primary healthcare, social protection, financial inclusion, and legal literacy), and Ashray Hasta Trust (AHT), which collaborated on relief programs. Over the years, these partnerships have played a major role in NYVS’s growth and impact.

Partnerships & Collaborations

In 2023-24, NYVS collaborated with several new partners as well as continued strengthening its relationship with existing partners. The most important partnership in 2023-24 was with Swathi Mahila Sangha and various community-based organizations (CBOs), including Disha Manville Bhavishya Sanstha (DNBS) in Nashik, Savitri Mahila Sanstha in Nandurbar, and Jeevan Dhara Mahila Samiti in Yavatmal, through the Taras Coalition to implement the GFATM C-19 RM grant.contributions, such as those from Dr. Ajit Mujmule, were instrumental in organizing and conducting primary health camps beyond the services provided by the primary healthcare department. Advocate Aruna Rathod provided essential support for the disaster relief task force and offered sessions on legal rights. KMS served as a vital partner, providing technical support for organizational development and enhancing understanding of vulnerable communities. Additionally, Swasti has been a long-standing partner, consistently offering technical assistance and helping to raise resources for NYVS since its inception.
